UPDATE ON SELBY BYPASS WORKS

Unfortunately, due to delays caused by the weather the work on the A1041 Wishing Well roundabout will continue into next week, with the A63 bypass closure from the A19 Brayton roundabout east through to the A19 Greencore roundabout remaining in place.

The signed local diversion for non HGV traffic is through the town centre. HGV traffic from the east will continue to be diverted along the A63 to Howden, then along the M62 from junction 37 to junction 33 up the A1M to the A63 east bound to Selby.  HGV traffic from the west will follow the diversion route in reverse order.  HGV traffic will be monitored throughout the works to ensure it follows the official diversions.

The work on the A19 Brayton roundabout is still programmed to follow on after the completion of the A1041 Wishing Well roundabout, at which time the A63 bypass will be closed from the A1041 Wishing Well roundabout west through to the A1238 Thorpe Willoughby roundabout. The signed local diversion for this phase of the work for non HGV is through Selby town centre. The HGV diversion will be the same as is currently in operation for the Wishing Well roundabout.

More information will be issued at a later date for the third phase of the work, when the two roundabouts will have been completed and the bypass will be closed between the A19 Brayton and A1041 Wishing Well roundabouts only.
